Importing Products to Foraged
Before syncing your products with Foraged, make sure each product has the ‘foraged-active’ tag. Only products with this tag will be imported into the Foraged Marketplace.
When products are imported from Shopify, we gather the following information:
- Store name and address
- Product title and description
- Price
- Inventory quantity
- Product images
- Any product variants (including their respective prices)
Keeping Shopify Data in Sync with Foraged
To ensure your product data remains up-to-date, we automatically sync the following:
1. Inventory Updates
- When an order is placed on Foraged for one of your products, we automatically reduce the inventory count in Shopify.
- If an order is made on your Shopify website or your inventory is updated for any reason, our system receives an update and adjusts our records accordingly. This helps prevent overselling products that are no longer in stock.
2. Product Additions
- If you create a new product in your Shopify admin dashboard, our system will automatically add it to the Foraged Marketplace, provided it has the ‘foraged-active’ tag.
3. Product Deletions
- If a product is deleted from your Shopify dashboard, our system will automatically remove it from the Foraged Marketplace.
4. Product Updates
- When you update a product in your Shopify admin dashboard, our system will sync those changes on Foraged. We track and update the following details:
- Product images
- Product title
- Product description
- For product variants, we detect if new variants are added or existing ones are deleted, and we apply these changes on Foraged.
By keeping your Shopify and Foraged data in sync, we ensure a seamless experience for managing your products across both platforms.
